Notice of Annual General Meeting

Notice is given for the calling of TVHC’s Annual General Meeting, to be held at 2:30pm, Saturday 4 November at the Tuggeranong Hockey Park. The current committee will provide reports on the year, including our financial report. Members will be given the opportunity to question, comment or raise concern with this year’s committee and/or any decisions made throughout the year.
The committee of 2017 will then be deemed vacant and positions filled under the newly merged TVHC constitution via nominations. A copy of the nomination form for the committee is below. Nominations can be submitted via email to secretary@vikings.org.au, noting that nominations require endorsement of two other TVHC members and must be submitted to the Secretary 7 days prior to the AGM. If two nominations were to be received for one role, an election from those present will occur. If a position receives no nomination prior to the AGM, the position may be filled at the AGM from nominations from the floor.
TVWHC will be holding its final AGM at 2pm before the TVHC AGM and new elections. TVHC invites all members to attend, get involved and potentially nominate for a committee role – we are in an exciting transition for the club, and many hands make light work. There’ll also be some food for those in attendance as a catch-up before the silly season.

Outcome of Special General Meeting

enter site Following the convening of Special General Meetings for TVHC and TVWHC members last night, we are pleased to announce that the motion for amalgamation passed the vote of those present decisively. Both clubs registered 66 votes – TVHC voted the proposal forward with 64 yes, 2 no. TVWHC voted the proposal forward with 65 yes, 1 no.
binaire opties voor dummies We would like to thank all members who attended and cast a vote, as well as all of those members who have assisted in the process to getting to what is a historic moment in the history of hockey in Tuggeranong. It is fantastic to see such support for the unification of the two clubs, and we look forward to the day where all members of the two clubs are members of just one. As the motion has now been passed, both committees will work over the coming weeks and months to begin the process of amalgamation ready for the commencement of the new TVHC constitution for all the Vikings Hockey family in October this year. This will begin with simple changes like newsletters, email accounts being established and the like to get things started, but the big ticket items like accounts and existing constitutional functions (like existing committees) won’t change until the holding of AGMs later in the year and the formal amalgamation takes place when each club committee is dissolved and a new committee is voted in under the new constitution.

Notice of Special General Meeting – Tuesday 6 June
In accordance with clause E4 of the Tuggeranong Vikings Hockey Club (TVHC) constitution, notice is given to TVHC members that I am calling a Special General Meeting to be held at 7:45pm on Tuesday 6 June 2017 at the Tuggeranong Hockey Park, Soward Way, Greenway.
The sole purpose of the Special General Meeting is to consider a motion to modify the TVHC constitution to amalgamate TVHC with the Tuggeranong Vikings Womens Hockey Club (TVWHC). As part of this motion, members will also approve the modification of the TVHC financial year for this year to allow for the amalgamation of finances should the motion pass. The motion for voting is below for consideration by members prior to the meeting, and the draft constitution for TVHC’s operations into the future is also below for reference. No changes have been made to the documentation since it was circulated to members a few weeks ago.
Members eligible to vote as per our existing constitution are encouraged to attend and vote. This includes registered players, a parent or guardian for registered players under the age of 18, and life members. Once the meeting commences, no entry will be allowed to ensure voting is conducted appropriately. Please ensure you have arrived and signed for your attendance before the meeting commences at 7:45pm.
I look forward to seeing as many members as possible at the vote for what is a significant milestone for the club and its members.

TVHC and TVWHC Amalgamation

Over the past eighteen months the committees of TVHC and TVWHC have been working towards an amalgamation of the two clubs into one unified entity. This task has involved the drafting of constitutional changes and documents, identifying issues that would prick the attention of members for investigation, and identifying a way forward while keeping the interests of the wider membership base in mind.
Today, we are pleased to release a number of documents to the membership for review and comment, noting that both committees have agreed that we are ready to approach the membership for an amalgamation vote.
The documents released today are:
- A draft TVHC constitution which reflects a combination of the existing TVHC and TVWHC constitutions, and which reflects the requirements of the new club moving forward;
- A document detailing an outline of the proposal, including pros and cons, timeframes and draft motions for consideration by the membership prior to their release and calling of an amalgamation vote; and
- Two guiding principle documents which outline the views of the existing committees when it comes to two key issues, player selections and uniform arrangements in a new club.
These documents are being released to the membership of both clubs today, with a two week timeframe for comment to each respective club president. Following the receipt of comments, if any, these documents will be finalised and a motion will be proposed for Special General Meetings to be held to accept or reject the amalgamation of the clubs. The finer details of this process are outlined within the documents released today, with formal notifications released as per existing constitutions closer to this event.
We are very pleased to have gotten to the point of polling the entire Vikings Hockey membership base to either progress or dismiss the amalgamation of the two clubs. We look forward to engaging with all members over the next to weeks, and encourage all members to read and provide comment (if they have any) to Cam on president@vikings.org.au or Matt on president@tvwhc.org.

TVHC’s possible merger with TVWHC will also be discussed by this year’s committee.
The committee will then be deemed vacant and positions filled via nominations from the floor. A copy of the nomination form for the committee is below. Nominations can be submit via email to president@vikings.org.au, noting that if two nominations were to be received for one role, an election from those present will occur.

Notice of TVHC Annual General Meeting
Good morning TVHC Members
TVHC’s 2015 committee hereby gives notice that TVHC is holding its 2015 Annual General Meeting at 2:30pm, Saturday 5 December at the Chisholm Vikings Club.
As always, there’ll be a report on the year, including a report on our financials, an update on things ahead and the opportunity to members to raise issues/concerns/feedback to the 2015 committee. The 2016 committee will then be elected by those present.
TVHC invites all members to attend – there’ll be some drinks and finger food as a Christmas catch-up and celebration.
